The real question is not "where do I find a garage" — it is "who can do this repair, when, and for how much".

Already have a repair estimate?

Upload it with your request and compare available options from other garages. Garages see the same work described, which makes the offers genuinely comparable.

Common questions

Is FixMyCarQuote free for drivers?

Yes. Submitting a request and receiving offers costs you nothing. We ask for no card details and there are no hidden fees.

Am I obligated to choose an offer?

No. You are free to decline every offer, go elsewhere, or simply do nothing. No offer commits you to anything until you accept it.

How many garages will respond?

We can't guarantee that. It depends on the repair, your area, and which garages have capacity when you ask. We show you what we get, and if we get nothing we will tell you plainly.

What if I don't know exactly what's wrong?

That is common, and it is not a problem. Choose "I'm not sure what's wrong" and describe what you hear, feel or see. Diagnosis is the garage's job, not yours.

Can I upload an estimate I already received?

Yes. You can attach a photo or PDF of the estimate with your request. Garages then see the same work described, which makes the offers easier to compare. Your document is visible only to our team.

Is an offered price guaranteed?

An offer reflects what the garage said based on the information given. After seeing the vehicle a garage may find the necessary work differs. A good garage calls you before adding anything.

What's the difference between a fixed quote, an estimated range and inspection required?

A fixed quote is a specific amount for specific work. A range gives a lower and upper figure when the exact work depends on a measurement — the condition of the rotors, say. "Inspection required" means the garage needs to see the vehicle before committing to a price, which is often the most honest answer to a noise or a warning light.

When does a garage receive my contact information?

We pass the repair, vehicle and area details first — not your name or phone number. Your contact details are shared only as far as necessary to follow up on your request, and the garage's identity is revealed to you when you choose an offer.

What does availability depend on?

Three things: where you are, what repair you need, and which garages have capacity when you ask. A tire change in November and a brake inspection in February do not meet the same availability.

What we don't promise

We don't guarantee a number of offers, a response time, or a saving. We pass your request to garages and show you what they say. If nothing comes back, we'll tell you.
