What we collect
Your first name, phone number and, if you give it to us, your email address. Your vehicle details: year, make, model and, if you provide them, trim, engine, mileage and VIN. Your city and postal code. The repair you are asking about and the description you write. The amount of an existing estimate if you tell us, and the document you upload if you choose to.
Why we collect it
To process your quote request and to contact garages in order to obtain offers for the repair you asked about. We do not use your information for any other purpose.
Sharing with garages and providers
To obtain offers, we pass garages the information needed to price the work: the vehicle, the repair requested, your description, your area and your preferred timing. Your contact details are shared with a garage only as far as necessary to follow up on your request. We also use technical providers that host the site, the database and the email service. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising that targets you.
Documents you upload
If you attach an estimate from another garage, the file is stored in our access-restricted database. It is never published at a public web address and is reachable only by our team after signing in. It is not sent by email and is not passed on to a garage as-is.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure use of the site, and we record in our own database how you arrived: source, medium, campaign, keyword and advertising click identifier (gclid) where present. This is used only to tell whether our advertising pays for itself. No information that identifies you — name, phone, email, VIN — is sent to Google Analytics.
Retention
We keep requests for as long as they are useful for following up on your file and evaluating the service. Documents you upload are kept while your request is active, then deleted roughly 90 days after it closes — only non-sensitive data remains at that point (file type, size, dates), never the document itself.
Security
Information is stored in an access-restricted database. Administrative access is protected by a password and a signed session, and is available only to our team.
Your rights and how to reach us
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information. Write to us at info@fixmycarquote.ca with your request number (for example RQ-000123) and we will respond within a reasonable time. You can ask us to delete your request at any point, including after submitting it.
Marketing
We do not send newsletters or promotional email. The only emails you will receive relate to the request you submitted.
