Compare prices for your tire change
In Québec winter tires are required by law for part of the year, and garages are swamped every November and April. Describe what you need and compare offers before the rush.

Common symptoms
- The mandatory changeover date is approaching
- Uneven wear, or tread worn on one side
- The steering wheel vibrates at highway speed
- The vehicle pulls to one side on a straight road
- One tire keeps losing pressure
- The tire pressure (TPMS) light stays on
You do not need to know which one applies: describe what you notice and the garage will do the diagnosis.
What changes the price
We do not publish an average price: we do not yet have enough real data to give an honest one. Here is what makes up the bill instead.
- Already on rims, or to be mounted
- This is the single biggest price difference. Tires already on their own rims are swapped quickly. Tires that must be dismounted and remounted on the same rims need a machine, balancing, and far more time.
- Balancing
- Often included when mounting on rims, often extra otherwise. Check what the quote covers — this is a frequent source of difference between two prices.
- Wheel size
- Large wheels and low-profile tires take more handling and carry more risk of damage, which is reflected in the price.
- TPMS sensors
- If your vehicle has pressure sensors they sometimes need reprogramming, and a broken sensor has to be replaced. Ask whether that is included.
- Storage
- Many garages will store your other set for the season. It is a separate service with its own price.
When an inspection is needed
If you are not sure whether your tires will last another season, ask for a check. The garage measures tread depth and looks at wear, age and cracking — more reliable than a glance in the driveway.

Common questions
What is the difference between "on rims" and "to be mounted"?
"On rims" means your winter tires have their own wheels, so the garage swaps four complete wheels. "To be mounted" means the tires have to be taken off the rims and others fitted, then balanced. The second takes longer and costs more.
Do I need an alignment at the same time?
Not automatically. An alignment is worth it if the vehicle pulls to one side, if wear is uneven, or after a hard impact such as a bad pothole. Otherwise it is a separate service.
How does FixMyCarQuote work?
You describe the repair your vehicle needs — it takes a few minutes. Our team looks for garages able to do the work and passes them your request. You compare the offers that come back and choose. It is free and there is no obligation.
Do you cover my area?
Give us your postal code and we will look for garages in your area able to do the work. Availability depends on where you are, the repair, and which garages have capacity when you ask — if we find no one, we will tell you plainly.
What we don't promise
We don't guarantee a number of offers, a response time, or a saving. We pass your request to garages and show you what they say. If nothing comes back, we'll tell you.
